Data Protection
Last updated: September 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AsianDating collects, uses and protects personal data when you create a profile, verify your identity or communicate with other members. It applies to every visitor and registered member of the platform, worldwide, and personal data is processed only where a recognised lawful basis exists. This document is a general policy statement - for questions about your specific data, contact our privacy team through the Contact page.
Data categories
A dating platform depends on trustworthy data to keep verification accurate and matching relevant. This policy identifies four categories of personal data we collect and why each one exists.
Name, email address, birth date, gender, your self-written bio, uploaded photos and stated relationship preferences, collected when you register and complete your profile.
Government-issued ID images, selfie verification photos and related document metadata submitted during identity verification.
See how verification worksMessages exchanged with other members, video call session metadata, saved search filters and general browsing activity within the platform.
IP address, device type, browser identifiers and system log data, collected automatically to keep the platform secure and functioning correctly.
Lawful basis
We rely on more than one lawful basis to process personal data, and each purpose is limited to what is genuinely necessary for that basis - the proportionality principle at the core of modern data protection practice.
| Purpose | Lawful Basis |
|---|---|
| Operating your account and delivering matches | Performance of a contract - the service you request when you register. |
| Verifying identity and preventing fraud | Legitimate interest in community safety and platform integrity. |
| Sending optional product updates or promotions | Consent, which you may withdraw at any time. |
| Responding to legal requests or enforcing our Terms | Compliance with a legal obligation. |
Data subject rights
Modern data protection frameworks give you direct control over the personal data we hold. The rights below apply to every registered member.
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
Ask us to correct inaccurate or outdated profile and account information.
Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to retention we owe under law.
Limit how we process your data while a dispute or correction request is under review.
Receive the data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including for direct marketing.
Request human review of any decision made solely through automated matching logic.
Submit any of these requests through our Contact page; our privacy team reviews and responds within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Protecting your data
We apply technical and organisational measures - encryption in transit, access controls restricted to authorised staff, and regular security reviews - to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. Data is retained only for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Where a personal data breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, consistent with recognised data protection practice.
Privacy requests
To exercise any of the rights described above, or to ask a question about how your data is handled, reach our privacy team through the Contact page. We aim to acknowledge every privacy request promptly and resolve it within the timeframe required by applicable law.
